This handmade pink and purple fused glass suncatcher comes in an open, deep box frame, making it a lovely piece of freestanding window decor. Designed for a windowsill or mantle, it catches the natural light beautifully, showing off its pink and purple tones as the sun shines through.
Each unique glass suncatcher is individually made by me, Becky, in my Surrey studio. I meticulously layer 12 pieces of pale pink and rich purple glass, blending both opaque and transparent varieties. This careful arrangement, combined with the kiln-firing process, creates a mesmerising depth and intricate swirls within the glass. The finished disc, approximately 9cm in diameter and 3-4mm thick, is then delicately suspended by a fine black chain from a small hook inside the 16cm square, 6cm deep frame. The open-backed design ensures maximum light interaction, allowing the true beauty of the glass to shine.
