‘Beautiful’ glass butterfly artwork in pink & purple.

This box frame features a handmade fused glass butterfly with the word ‘beautiful’ handwritten beneath. A great feature on a shelf or mantle, or a gift for someone special.

This collection is made using a technique called frit casting.  I draw the shape digitally and then cut a mould into fibre paper.  I then fill the mould with glass granules called frit and fire in the kiln.  Any bumps or imperfections are then filed down and the glass is fired for a second time called a ‘fire polish’ to make it really shiny!
