This handmade green fused glass window suncatcher is a truly unique piece of art, beautifully suspended within an open, deep box frame. Designed to transform sunlight, its iridescent glass disc catches and scatters light, creating a dazzling display of green hues – from pale to dark – in any room. It’s perfect for a sunny windowsill, a bright mantlepiece, or as distinctive framed art.
Each glass suncatcher is individually handcrafted by me, Becky, in my Surrey workshop. Using a multi-layered fused glass technique, I carefully arrange 12 layers of vibrant green glass, before pressing them to achieve a delicate translucency. Once fired in the kiln, these layers fuse and swirl, making every 9cm diameter disc a one-of-a-kind creation. The disc is then subtly suspended by a fine black chain from a small hook inside the 16cm square, 6cm deep frame, allowing the light to flow through freely.
This freestanding glass art piece makes an exceptional gift or a wonderful addition to your own home decor. Its original design ensures it’s a conversation starter, bringing a unique touch of handmade artistry and a pop of colour to any space.
